I Love You Again (1940)

I Love You Again (1940)

Director: WS Van Dyke
Starring: William Powell, Myrna Loy, Frank McHugh

Synopsis:
An amnesiac wakes up to his former life after falling overboard during a cruise. While trying to cash out of his second life, he is drawn to his wife, who is trying to leave him.

Impressions:
When this movie started, I was rather surprised because William Powell was playing such a different character from what he usually does. That ended up being short-lived as the character's revived personality is more in keeping with what you'd expect. It's fairly amusing watching him try to run his con while recapturing the heart of his wife. I thought the Junior Woodchuck segment ran on a little long, but other than that, it's not a bad film and fans of the William Powell/Myrna Loy tag team should appreciate it.
