Synopsis:
A receptionist at the Adventurers' Guild leads a double life as the dreaded Executioner, defeating difficult monsters herself to spare herself the overtime spent filling out paperwork for drawn-out quests.
Impressions:
This is another series where the premise alone was enough to lure me in. Having CloverWorks handle the production was further inducement. The OP is quite good and the ED cute and catchy, but how does the series overall stack up? Well, to be honest, so-so. I feel that if the story had either leaned more into the comedy or the drama, we would've got a better end product. Instead we have underwhelming drama and lukewarm comedy with a largely unlikeable (but still rather cute) protagonist. I get what they're going for with Alina, but her schtick gets old quick. Poor Jade (the male lead) is quite the glutton for punishment. You may enjoy it, but there's nothing here that really pulls it ahead of the pack, so the best I can say is take it or leave it.
