The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Volume 7 (2019)

Author/Artist: Akira Himekawa
Publisher: Tentomushi Comics

Synopsis:
Link recovers from his injuries while struggling with the darkness in his heart.

Story/Characters:
Most of this volume is slow and introspective, giving Link time to sort out all the stuff he's been going through lately. This is all manga-original content, but rather than distracting from the story, it nicely adds depth to Link's characterization. We dig into his shady past and we get a nice contrast between Shadow Link and Anika, the village girl who takes care of Link. There's also an interesting encounter between Zelda and Ganondorf that ties into the overarching mythos of the franchise.

Art:
There's not much action in this volume, but that doesn't take away from anything. The art hasn't failed to impress yet and there are plenty of effective shots for your viewing pleasure.

Conclusion:
This is a fine exploration of Link's character that shows how well Himekawa can expand on the original content. It's a nice breather as we gear up for what's likely the final stretch of the story. If you've been collecting thus far, you'll want to continue to do so.
